Another element in wall décor is custom framing for all your art. If you walk to the back of Butler's Sewing Center, you will find a business owned by Bud Snyder, Snyder's Custom Framing. Bud retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years of service. Since 1981, he has been well known for his creative craftsmanship in custom framing. All his work is done in-house, and he designs and executes each project himself. Bud has been published in Décor Magazine four times, in recognition of his innovative designs. He was also featured in a Décor Magazine article focusing on his invention of a device for stretching needlework. He creates a lot of shadowboxes, the largest, so far, being four feet by 5 feet in size. He receives timely shipments of framing supplies from Larson Juhl and is featured on their web site. Bud uses a wide variety of acid-free mats; conservation glass, plexi-glass, and museum glass which is reflection-free; frame moldings of wood, metal, and synthetics, such as Formica-covered, gesso overlays, and other innovative finishes. Thirty years of experience have given Bud Snyder the opportunity to creatively design and execute masterpieces worthy of your masterpieces!
